Tao Seafood Asia Mother’s Day “Mrs Lee’s Favourites”
Tao Seafood Asia introduces “Mrs Lee’s Favourites” menu, in tune with Mother’s Day. It is not hard to guess that the dishes on the menu are all Mrs Lee’s (Head Chef Lee’s wife) favourite dishes – claypot braised chicken, homestyled wok fried prawn with sambal and Pig trotters with sea cucumbers. When paired with a bowl of rice, the dishes gave a taste of home.
For appetizers, we have the Deep Fried Fish Skin with Salted egg sauce- $10++. Each fish skin fried to golden brown was coated uniformly with salted egg sauce. Crispy and light! A simple dish executed perfectly, dip it into the TAO homemade green chili sauce for the spicy kick. I wish I can have it right now!!!
Steamed Egg with Coconut juice topped with crab meat and salmon roe ($9.80+ for individual portion) There was nothing but exclaims of “Wah, so pretty!” at the spectacular presentation of the dish with the beautifully carved fish when this dish was first served to the table. It has a texture similar to that of chawanmushi and fresh creamy chunks of crab meat were hidden within the steamed egg. One is not enough for me!
Homestyle wok-fried prawns ($30++) The prawns were doused in gravy sauce and absorbed with wok-hei flavor!
Claypot Braised Chicken and abalone with Rice wine ($48++) I particularly like how chewy the abalone was!
Tao Pig Trotters with sea cucumber ($48++) I am sure this dish would be well loved by all mothers as it is highly nutritious and rich in collagen. The sea cucumber has a melt-in-the-mouth texture and the fresh tender pig trotters has fully absorbed the essence of the rich and flavourful broth. It reminds me of the pig trotters my late grandmother would make every Chinese New Year.
