Archipelago Creamery – Shibuya Toast and waffles In the West!

We found a good hideout from the hot and hazy weather yesterday, at Archipelago Creamery, that’s a stone throw away from home (but far for many), in the far west of Singapore, near Pulau NTU. Good for all you NTU students ah!
The cafe is painted in shades of classy white and tiffany blue, perhaps an oceanic theme? Hmm, tiffany blue seems to be a trending colour lately. (Read more: Pace Cafe; Dazzling Cafe)
Ice cream is made in-house with special flavours like the Fluffer Nutter (Peanut butter & marshmallows) and what the fudge chocolate or Tali-Bourbon (Whiskey & cornflakes) for the alcoholics. Single/Twin/Triple Scoops at the price of $3.50/$6.50/$9.50 with a top-up of $1 for premium flavours.
We went for the waffle of the day – Charcoal Waffle with Rum & Raisins + Rocher ($13.50)
Waffle is fluffy and has a mild butter taste. Rocher has a decadent nutty texture while the Rum Raisins leaving us a little tipsy. Ice cream is generally more of the creamy kind, inclined to the sweet side.
We wanted more Rum Raisins after this, and hence an extra scoop of it ($4.50) in a cup. Note the cute spade!
We also ordered their Shibuya Toast – Strawberry & Chocolate, served with serving of honey ($14.80) that was really photogenic, the natural lightings sure helps a lot too! Look at the generous portion of BERRIES – strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
The Shibuya toast was hollowed out and the golden egg and buttered bread cubes were crispy yet soft fluffy within. We had some difficulty slicing the bread brick wall for a start as it was firm hard but the melting sweetness from the vanilla ice cream slowly helps.
Overall, the ice cream flavours may need a little tweaking but Archipelago Creamery would definitely serve good for a quick luscious summer (hazy) treat for westies!
