Pantai Restaurant – Affordable Comfort Food in Montigo Resorts
“Go Batam must eat seafood”, that’s what all my friends say. Nearer to the sea, probably fresher, more variety and cheaper too!
Within Montigo Resorts, there were a few F&Bs and Pantai happened to be our favourite pick. More variety, cosy seaside resort ambience and wallet- friendly.
The menu came in a thick booklet with appetisers, soup, seafood (lots and lots of them), poultry, vegetables, tofu, eggs and desserts. Family oriented and great for sharing, like a tze char style.
Our favourite was the Hot Plate tofu with Ginger, Onion, Mushroom and Chicken (IDR 65,000 for small/ IDR 95,000 for large). Hot, tinge of spiciness, and sizzling warm comfort food as we eat it on a cool windy night.
The teppanyaki- styled tofu was comforting and made us crave for more rice.
A wide selection of seafood were available such as Fish (Seasonal price), Cuttlefish (IDR 75,000 for small/ IDR 105,000 for large), Shellfish such as Crabs (Seasonal price) and Prawns (IDR 135,000 for small/ IDR 245,000 for large).
The Wok Fried Flower Crab with Onion, paprika, spring onion and black pepper sauce tasted similar to our Singaporean style black pepper crab. Fiery, feisty but not overwhelming. We loved the fresh, tender and juicy meat, which could only be found in fresh seafood.
One of our favourites include the Wok- fried Bee Hoon with Beef and Oyster Sauce (IDR 60,000 for small/ IDR 95,000 for large). Simplicity at its best, the most decent looking dish could be the memorable one.
So much wokhei in the dish that we loved the aroma and taste of every bite.
If you are looking at memorable, lots of variety and affordable food at Montigo Resorts, do not missed out Pantai.
