Chinese New Year 2016: Monkey Magic at Peony Jade

Peony Jade presents delectable offerings this CNY with their “Monkey Magic” delights with eight new artful creations, from 14 January to 22 February 2016.

Peony Jade’s Instant Enormous Windfall Monkey-Shaped Yu Sheng was not only spectacular and full of goodiness as well. This Yu Sheng is definitely too cute to be eaten isn’t it?

It is enriched with premium seafood such as 2 head golden abalone, lobster, salmon, tuna and lychee pulp-pops, infused with citrusy yuzu juice. Peony Jade’s deep fried taro chips and roasted pine nuts are added in to give it an extra crunch. Priced at $388.88, this yusheng serves up to 10 guests and is available at both outlets.

One of the most ordered dishes at CNY: Poon Choi is available as well and is escalated to culinary heights with 12 Premium ingredients. This was our favorite dish among all the items which we had tried.

Yes, you have not read wrong, poon choi with shavings of the aromatic black truffle. This Poon Choi pot is priced at: 1. $88.88 for single portion 2. $498.88 for Mini Premium (serves 6); . 2. $698.88 for Premium (serves 10)

Peony Jade’s version of Pit Fire Roasted Deboned Suckling Pig with Glutinous Rice & Chinese Sausages ($198.88 half; $388.8 full) would be a delight for those who can’t do without rice every meal. We loved that the crackling crispy skin and glutinous rice which has the hint of wok-hei flavored but the roasted pork was a little too hard for our liking.

Sauteed Boston Lobster with Egg White topped with Fish Roe and Caviar ($128.88) – beautifully plated in the form of the cherry bossom tree. The fresh lobster meat paired with the rich caviar will send your tastebuds to Nirvana, I could finish the whole plate myself I think. Haha.

Peony Jade continues to wow us with its handcrafted pastries – intricately shaped Kumquat and longevity peach mochi. Each mochi comes with mixture of low sugar white lotus fillings and macademia nuts that is not overly sweet .  This Bountiful Treasure Gift Set is priced at $68.88 per set of 8.

Chinese New Year goodies are a must at every household during CNY. Apart from the usual pineapple tarts and love letters, why not go for Peony Jade’s homemade deep-fried salted egg salmon fish skin and the wasabi banana chips which are equally addictive. You can’t stop once you start munching on them!

The Mao Shan Wang Nian Gao was so good, moist and rich that I bought two back to share with my family and friends! Durian lovers should definitely not miss this!

For a dim sum twist, opt for the Gourmet Ala Carte Dim Sum Reunion Feastings with complimentary “Prosperity” Yu Sheng from 25 January to 9 February 11am to 2pm, priced at $48.88++ per pax.
