What to eat this National Day 2016

RED Velvet waffles plated on the edible National Flag? Yes, this is available at Spathe / Mu Parlour / Kitchenette from 6- 9 August in celebration of the Nation’s Birthday and is going at 51% off the usual price at $7.84++
Natural red coloring cream cheese sauce and icing sugar frames up the edible national flag. If you are wondering the taste – the waffle is fluffy, slight dense and chocalately. The berries were quite a good accompaniment these waffles as they added a sour depth to this sweet treat.
Alternative, you could get the red velvet shake with dark chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles. This could be the golden opportunity to land your hand on this over the top milkshake – probably the cheapest milkshake at $5.88++

cross sectional of the mac and cheese burger
We tried the Mac and cheese burger at Spathe that comes in a towering size with – mac & cheese substituting as the buns, cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings and minced beef patty. It was an explosion of flavours in the mouth but the cheese was not intense enough for me, maybe mozzarella cheese as well?

Mango chutney prawn, part of the 2 course weekday set lunch
The roasted chicken breast was tender and the garlic rosemary sauce doused on the meat make it moist and flavorful.

We all know that Pince & Pints are good for their lobsters right. The ever famous Truffle Lobster Roll with plump fresh lobster sandwiched between crispy buttery buns or the chilli lobster with fried mantou are just as good.
In line with Singapore’s Birthday, the usual hawker dish laksa gets a luxurious upgrade to Laksa Lobster which would be available till 30th September.
A rich and flavorful bowl of laksa broth (with half boston lobster, $29) made sweeter as clams were used in place of cockles. I wished for some fried mantou to soak in the flavorful broth!
